Make something beautiful at Winter Craft Night

Books are meant to be enjoyed, to give the reader passage into a whole new world for them to enjoy. However, what becomes to books when they are broken down, or no longer able to be used, they are made into something more. Come be a part of that wonder and change at the Winter Craft Night.  Winter Craft Night begins at 7 p.m. on Dec. 16 at the Shelby Township Library, located on 51670 Van Dyke Ave.

The Winter Craft Night will be taking old or broken books that are no longer wanted and making them into something special. Such crafts include making decorative centerpieces for Christmas, making small Christmas trees out of paper, and making flowers out of books.  It is a chance to make something beautiful and recycle.

“This is a chance for books that have lived their lives to be repurposed,” Assistant Library Director Catherine Schmidt said. “You can make them into something new in a creative way.”

All craft items will be provided by the Shelby Township Library, including books and ideas. All that you have to bring is your imagination. No registration is needed to attend.
