Here comes Santa Claus

This weekend will be your last chance to visit with Old St. Nick before he heads back to the North Pole for his final preparations.

On Sun., Dec. 14 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm the Burgess-Shadbush Nature Center will be hosting Santa Claus for his final visit to Shelby Township.

There is no fee for this event, so be sure to grab everyone you know that’s on the Nice List and listen for the sound of reindeer hooves as you wait to see Santa Claus!

A Pioneer Christmas

Join us this weekend as the Burgess-Shadbush Nature Center discovers how the pioneers of our area celebrated Christmas. The “Sisters of the Union” will be showing the Pioneer Cabin to the visitors, where you can discover how the pioneers may have decorated. You can also test your knowledge of old-time traditions in a sit-down program, make old fashioned ornaments (first come, first serve basis), and enjoy a wagon ride. There will also be homemade cookies and hot chocolate to relax and unwind with.

The center will also be having a bake sale, used book sale, and used item sale. All proceeds will go to the Friends of Shadbush to help with future program funding.

Days and times include:
Sat, Dec 6 from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm
Sun, Dec 7 from noon to 4:00 pm

There will be a $5 fee per person that is good for the whole day, ages 4 and up.
All children must be accompanied by a paid adult.
