Mom 2 Mom Sale at the Community Center

mom2momsale000Are your kids outgrowing their old clothes? Cleaning out the closets?

Just in time for spring cleaning, the Shelby Community Center (51670 Van Dyke Avenue) is hosting a Mom 2 Mom Sale on Saturday, April 30 from 9:00am – 1:00pm. This is a perfect opportunity to sell clothes, baby accessories, or large toys that your children are no longer using. It’s also a great chance to buy affordable and gently-used items from your neighbors.

This event is open to individuals and families ONLY – NO VENDORS.

The entry fee is $1 per adult, cash only. No strollers are permitted before 11:00am to save on space. Additional fees are applicable for sellers, including: $18 for a six foot table (supplied by Community Center); $3 for rack space (bring your own, no round racks please); $2 per large item, limit 5 large items per person, please pre-register for large items.

 

Easter Fun in Shelby

mascot-easter-bunny-costumeThe Easter Bunny is on his way to Shelby Township! Come meet the floppy-eared hare at any one of our “egg-citing” events planned for the weekend before Easter.

Easter Bunny Lunch at the Shelby Community Center: Saturday, March 19 at 11:00 am. Join the Easter Bunny and a surprise entertainer for a pizza/salad lunch. Remember to bring your cameras and register for this event! Fee, per person, for ages 2 & up: $7 for residents and $12 for non-residents.

Easter Egg Scramble at River Bends Park: Saturday, March 19 at 1:00 pm for ages 3-5 and 2:00 pm for ages 6-10. A truly festive afternoon will start with an egg hunt, kids will “scramble” to find all the goodie-filled eggs, as well as special “Golden Eggs” that will have a token for a special gift courtesy of Genisys Credit Union. Bring your own basket for egg collection! This is an outdoor, rain or shine, event with no registration and no payment required.

“Egg”citing Easter at Burgess-Shadbush Nature Center: Sunday, March 20 from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm. This event will feature an egg hunt, Easter bag and egg decorating activities, and a chance to take a picture with the Easter Bunny. Remember to register for this event and bring 6 hard-boiled eggs for decorating! Fee is $4 per participating child.

Party for Princesses at the Shelby Community Center

prinThe annual Princess Fantasy Fun Night takes place next Friday, January 29 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm. Designed for young girls aged 3 to 10, child attendees are encouraged to wear their favorite gown and tiara and enjoy an evening fit for a princess. This year’s event will be Cinderella-themed, but all princesses are welcome!

Activities will include a kid-friendly dinner, dancing, face painting, and a themed craft. A real princess from Tea Party Castle will also be joining the festivities.

All children must be accompanied by an adult. Fees are $13 per child, $6 per adult, and non-residents add an additional $10 per family.
