heid It’s that time of year again; time to bust out that favorite ugly sweater from the back of your closet. Any teenager that loves festive and ugly sweaters is invited to come to the Teen Ugly Sweater Holiday Party.

This festive celebration of ugly sweaters starts at 2 p.m. on Dec. 12 at the Shelby Township library, located on 51670 Van Dyke Ave.

Tweens and Teens between 5th and 12th grade are invited to wear their ugliest sweater at this fun-filled celebration of all things fluffy and hideous. What if you don’t have an ugly sweater of your own? No problem. You can take a plain sweater along from home to make it festively ugly at the event. Crafts and games will be on the agenda at this toasty event. Snacks will be provided.

“Ugly sweaters are something we always dreaded getting from our grandma and aunts, but now everyone is embracing them,” Librarian Jennifer Sunderhaus said. “We want everyone to come out and have a good time.”

There will also be a competition for who is wearing the ugliest sweater. The categories for the contest are ugliest, most original, and crowd favorite. Whoever has the ugliest sweater will win small prize. No registration is needed for this event.
